Only Possible on Ethereum: MegaETH Edition
Also, new research from 2077: csUSDL, US Gov lifted Tornado sanctions, Fidelity is tokenizing money market on Ethereum, and more.

Hi,
On March 21st, MegaETH opened its testnet to public.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, here’s the quick pitch: MegaETH is the most performant L2. But unlike other L2s, it’s making a pretty extreme trade-off—it’s permanently giving up sequencer decentralization.
Yeah, you read that right. No decentralized sequencer. Ever.
Why? For pure, unfiltered performance.
The performance numbers are honestly wild. The current testnet boasts 20,000 transactions per second, 1.7 GigaGas per second, and 10ms block times. The team’s even teasing crazier numbers down the line: 100k TPS, 50 GigaGas/sec, and a 1–2 millisecond block time.
That’s not just fast—it’s “did-that-even-happen?” fast.
In practice, it feels real-time. That's why their tagline is "real-time blockchain".
Personally, the slowest part was clicking through my wallet. The actual onchain execution? Blink and you’ll miss it.
Now, I know the common criticism: “Solana is already fast enough. Beyond a point, faster doesn't mean better.”
But I have to disagree.
Millisecond improvements results in massive UX improvements. It might not be obvious to our conscious minds. But it'll reveal itself if we look at data.
Every 100ms of latency cost Amazon 1% in sales. That's ~$1.6 billion in lost revenue annually. For every 1 second improvement in page load time, Walmart increased conversions by 2%.
So yeah — speed/performance = new user experience = new innovations
Now imagine combining MegaETH’s insane performance with stuff like account abstraction. You’d have web3 apps that feel like web2. No compromises. No clunky UX.
The team is calling those apps OMEGA: Only Possible on MegaETH.
A lot of blockchains have thrown around that "only possible here" marketing line. But let’s be honest—most of the time, it’s BS.
MegaETH actually backs it up.
Noise seemed to be the best example of that. It allows people to trade "trends", which change in real time. So we need real time blockchain to create markets for trends. Additionally, we can't have MEV bots wrecking our trades.
Only MegaETH makes that possible right now. Unfortunately, there’s a waitlist. And no, I’m not in yet. Pain.
Another OMEGA app you can try right now is GTE. It’s going for a Binance-like experience but fully onchain. The goal? Bring real price discovery into the onchain world. If they pull that off, it’s going to be a major milestone for the entire space.
If you want to vicariously try all the MegaETH apps on testnet, click here. Trust me—it’s worth a click. You’ll get why this feels different.
But here’s what matters most to ETH maxis like me: MegaETH is only possible on Ethereum.
Ethereum is the only chain truly investing in building the best platform for L2s. MegaETH is taking full advantage of that. It’s betting everything on performance, making radical trade-offs, and unlocking a brand new design space for apps.
And I can’t wait to see what else emerges.
Now, let's dive into other topics!
📖 2077 Research

csUSDL: Supercharging Treasury Management With Yield-Bearing Stablecoins
Stablecoins have become critical components of crypto’s onchain economy.
A major benefit of DeFi is composability. Now there are many stablecoins that leverages composability to create innovative stablecoins.
csUSDL is an example. It provides yield from both RWA US treasuries and DeFi native yields.
ERC-4337: 2 Years After
Account abstraction is often promoted as the ultimate UX fix.
ERC-4337 was one version of account abstraction in Ethereum. It enabled account abstraction without requiring protocol-level changes.
It's been two years since it went live. This thread covers the progress and key takeaways from ERC-4337.
🌍️ Ecosystem Updates
Fidelity has filed paperwork to create tokenized money market similar to BlackRock's BUIDL. It'll go live on Ethereum first.
Farcaster introduced "Airdrop Offers". It allows project to give targeted airdrops based on completed actions like installing a frame or casting. You can do all these within one mobile app.
Aragon introduced their latest version of onchain organizational tooling. Teams will be able to deploy custom governance processes on many chains like Ethereum, Polygon, Base, and more L2s.
US Treasury had sanctioned Tornado Cash. Last week they announced they were removing sanctions against Tornado Cash.
Ress was released. It's a fully validating stateless Ethereum node with just 14GB disk requirements.
Farcaster announced the mining of the first Snapchain block. Snapchain is the data layer for Farcaster, a web3-native social media project.
🧪 Nerd Corner
New EIP proposes to add additional SWAP and DUP operations for deeper stack access.
Perceptron Tree-based Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) model can be used to compress transaction data. An EIP proposes a method to enhance the scalability and privacy of Ethereum.
An EIP is aiming to provide an RPC method that allows clients to report key configuration variables before the next hard fork. It can prevent consensus failures during hard forks caused by misconfigurations.
A new research proposes a new way to make cryptocurrency transactions safer by ensuring that users can clearly see what will happen when they sign a transaction.
New proposal introduced a variation of ERC6551 that extends to all types of contracts linked to NFTs. It allows NFTs not only to own assets and interact with applications as accounts but also to be linked with any contract.
